After a storm rolled through the Milwaukee area Sunday afternoon, additional scattered thunderstorms are expected tonight all the way into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee.
The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northern Milwaukee County and southwestern Ozaukee County until 4:45 p.m.
People were to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of their building, stay away from windows and prepare for large hail and “deadly cloud to ground lightning,” the warning said.
Shortly before 4 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Germantown, moving east at 55 mph., according to the warning.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for northeastern Waukesha and Southern Washington counties until 4:15 p.m.
There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms in Milwaukee Sunday night, according to the forecast. After 1 a.m., showers are likely and possibly a thunderstorm.
There will be “several chances” for scattered thunderstorms this week. “The best chances” for rain will likely be Monday night and Tuesday, as a cold front moves through the area.
