Megan appears on her own Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit 2021 Cover as one of three separate cover models, including tennis star Naomi Osaka and model Leyna Bloom.
When asked by CNN about her thoughts on being the first rapper on the cover of Sports Illustrated, Megan said it was a dream come.
“It definitely was a dream for me to be on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit,” Megan told CNN. “And to be the first female rapper? Who else would they pick? I am just happy they chose the Hot Girl Coach!”
In its feature article, Sports Illustrated expressed its excitement for having the hip-hop star on its cover.
“Megan Thee Stallion doesn’t stay in one lane. In fact, she encourages everyone to be in multiple, and this is what we love about her,” the article reads. “She captured the world’s attention with her music and style, but what caught our attention was her unfiltered approach to the way she makes you think… Megan is a vessel for change, and we are honored to have her on our 2021 cover.”
