A Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Al Nassr grabbed a vital 2-1 victory against Al Taawoun to head back to the top of the Saudi Pro League standings on goal difference at the halfway point of the season.
The Portuguese star proved the difference maker as his defence-splitting pass in the first half found winger Abdulrahman Ghareeb who confidently curved the ball inside the far post to put the hosts up 1-0.
Ronaldo delivered a low first-time through-ball from inside his own half to set up Abdulrahman Ghareeb for Al Nassr’s opening goal against Al-Taawoun.
Meanwhile, Al-Taawoun head into this fixture on the back of a 2-1 loss to Al-Fateh. It was their second defeat in the last five games. They are currently fifth on the table with 30 points from 16 outings.
