Amy Schumer is ditching her face fillers.
On Sunday, the 40-year-old comedian shared on Instagram that she got fillers in her face but ended up having them dissolved.
“I tried getting fillers,” she captioned a candid selfie from the dermatologist’s office. “Turns out I was already full.”
“Thank God you can dissolve them I looked like #malificent thanks @drjlodnp,” she added, tagging dermatologist Dr. Jodi LoGerfo.
LoGerfo also shared Schumer’s selfie, explaining that the star came to her after getting dermal filler — which she wrote “can be a wonderful way to replace lost volume and enhance the face” — elsewhere.
She called filler placement “extremely important,” adding, “we decided that where the filler was placed, was not ideal, so we dissolved it. Dissolving filler is a very simple and quick treatment. I injected hyaluronidase (an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid) to dissolve it.”
Schumer’s famous followers chimed in on her post, with Isla Fisher writing, “You are so beautiful! No fillers needed,” while Bachelor Nation star Ashley Iaconetti commented, “Hahaha love this and have dissolved multiple times!”
When a fan commented asking Schumer why she had tried fillers, the star replied that it was “something about this year” that prompted the procedure.
“Turning 40 all my surgeries I want to feel the best I can about myself,” she wrote. “I got lipo and I had a great experience doing that. I used to be really [judgmental] about people getting work done. Now I’m like, do everything you can to love yourself exactly as you are but once you turn 40 and have a c section do whatever the f—k will make you feel best!”
In September, Schumer underwent surgery to remove her uterus and appendix due to endometriosis. She’s also been candid in the past about how endometriosis affected her fertility. In August 2020, she said she’d decided that she couldn’t “be pregnant ever again” following her first pregnancy with now-2-year-old son Gene.
