NFL schedule release 2023 tracker: Leaks, rumors, when do Patriots play?

The NFL won’t officially release its full 2023 schedule until Thursday night, but several marquee matchups were revealed a day early. After CBS announced an AFC Championship rematch between the Bengals and Chiefs, we now have confirmation of matchups on two of the biggest dates on the calendar: the Dolphins and Jets will meet in the NFL’s first Black Friday game, while the Eagles and Giants will square off on Christmas Day as part of another holiday tripleheader.

The Eagles-Giants showdown had been rumored as a favorite to headline Amazon’s Prime Video production of Black Friday football, but that slot, set for a 3 p.m. ET kickoff on Nov. 24, now belongs to the AFC East. The Jets figure to be prime-time darlings with longtime Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers now onboard, and they’ll host Miami at MetLife Stadium the day after Thanksgiving, as Amazon announced Wednesday. The Dolphins-Jets game will be free to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

Eagles vs. Giants, meanwhile, will kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET on Monday, Dec. 25, as the second game in the NFL’s second annual Christmas Day tripleheader. Fox will broadcast the game, almost a year after Philadelphia clinched a playoff spot by routing New York on the road. The Eagles and Giants ultimately met three times in 2022, including in the divisional round of the playoffs.

The third and final London game this season will feature the Tennessee Titans hosting the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023 (Week 6). The two teams will square off at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the game will be televised by the NFL Network at 9:30am ET.

The final two International Series games in 2023 will both be contested at Deutsch Bank Park in Frankfurt, Germany. On Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023 (Week 9), the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Miami Dolphins. The following week on Sunday, Nov. 12 (Week 10), the New England Patriots will host the Indianapolis Colts. Both contests will be televised live by the NFL Network at 9:30am ET.

The latest episode of Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast features an interview with Andy Reid. Reid has coached both Kelce brothers, and it was clear that he means a lot to both of them, because they were downright giddy during the entire interview. The genuine affection both Kelces have for Reid was evident from start to finish.

Kevin Durant ended up getting a technical foul in Tuesday’s playoff game against the Nuggets when he lightly pushed Nikola Jokić away from the Suns’ huddle during a timeout.

One of the last major dates on the offseason calendar before on-field activity begins, the schedule release sets a date for all of the premier matchups we’ll see during the regular season and gives fans a sense of what’s to come on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and everything in between. The 2023 schedule will even feature a game on Black Friday.

Livestream access of NFL Network is available across multiple devices (smartphone, PC, tablet and connected TVs) through the NFL app or, the NFL Network app on smartphones and tablets for subscribers of participating NFL Network providers, and for NFL+ subscribers.

NFL+ will host the Players Only Schedule Release, starting at 5 p.m. PT with host Andrew Siciliano, analyst Daniel Jeremiah, running back Mark Ingram and multiple guest players reacting to the 2023 schedule.

The 2023 NFL schedule will be released on Thursday, May 11. Unlike most major events on the NFL calendar, the NFL doesn’t set a date for the schedule release until days before it occurs.

All 32 teams will release their schedule near the start of the reveal show. Also included in the reveal will be holiday games and all prime time games with the exception of the Week 18 “Sunday Night Football” game, which will be flexed into that slot after Week 17.

Notably, “Monday Night Football” games in December and January can now be flexed out of the prime time slot along with certain “Sunday Night Football” games, so not all of the late-season prime time matchups included in the schedule reveal are guaranteed to stay in those slots.
