Tonight’s rain and thunderstorms continue to push through the area after bringing 1-3 inches of much-needed water to Central Texas.
Still, with wind gusts over 60 mph at times, several thousand people are without power early this Wednesday morning. Watch for any debris on the roads if you’re driving around Wednesday morning as some of the wind damage may have yet to be cleaned up.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been discontinued as severe storms have moved southeast of the area.
In the wake of the overnight cold front, we will enjoy cooler mornings Wednesday and Thursday, but will quickly settle back into a hot, dry weather pattern on Memorial Day weekend.
Any leftover early morning showers wrap up and we’ll head back into our warm/hot dry pattern as we head into Memorial Day weekend.
The storms will blow through the Hill Country starting around 8-10 p.m., Austin between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m., and coastal plain communities from midnight to 3 a.m.
Thunderstorms will taper off to a steady light to moderate rain about an hour or so after the initial line of storms blows through. The rain should be done along the I-35 corridor by sunrise Wednesday. Any lingering showers along the coastal plain will clear the area by noon Wednesday.
