Simone Biles and her boyfriend Jonathan Owens took their relationship to the next level this week, announcing that they are engaged.
The Olympian posted a carousel of photos to Instagram on Tuesday morning showing Owens down on one knee proposing to her in a gazebo in Houston, Texas. For the occasion, Biles wore a black, ruched mini dress and heels, while the Houston Texans safety opted for a gray suit. Owens popped the question with a large, oval-cut diamond ring with a diamond-encrusted band, a close-up video of which Biles also included in the post. The gymnast enthusiastically wrote in the caption, “THE EASIEST YES. I can’t wait to spend forever & ever with you, you’re everything I dreamed of and more! let’s get married FIANCÉ.” Owens also commented on the post, “Ready for forever with you,” with a red heart emoji. In his own post announcing the happy news, the football player wrote, “Woke up this morning with a fiancée,” adding that Biles “really had no clue what was coming.”
