Lana Del Rey fans have been left scratching their heads after a video went viral of her working at a Waffle House in Florence, Alabama, but now a local has claimed she actually stopped by to visit her.
The internet was sent into meltdown on Thursday when the Video Games singer, 38, was seen pouring coffees and taking orders at the restaurant chain – all while dressed in the company’s blue uniform.
She even wore a yellow name badge as she kept busy behind the counter and served customers.
While many were baffled to see Lana appearing to put in a shift at the diner, one fan who works at the chain has claimed the ‘humble’ and ‘funny’ star came to visit her after meeting the day before at a thrift store.
Waffle House employee LaShawn Tuttle posted selfies of herself and Lana at the establishment, alongside snaps of Lana getting to grips with the all important coffee machine and chatting away to customers.
Sharing the pictures to Facebook, LaShawn said: ‘Had so much fun with Lana Del Rey, she is so humble, funny and such a good sport!!’
Shedding more light in the comments, she claimed: ‘Saw her yesterday and came see me at work today.’
Waffle House, which has 1,900 locations across America, is a popular restaurant chain offering up waffles, biscuits, burgers, and more.
According to Indeed, hosts make around $11.50 an hour while servers take home $14.50 an hour.
Another Alabama local also revealed that they had spotted Lana in the Harvest area earlier this week.
Taking to Facebook, they said: ‘Lana Del Ray has been seen on local properties in Harvest, Alabama cleaning up the branches from last night’s storm.
‘She was delightful to her fans and very helpful in cleaning up the mess.’
Footage of Lana in Waffle House garb first appeared on social media on Thursday, surprising fans across the globe.
In one video, the songstress can be heard saying: ‘Oh look at this guy. Oh God, Charlie don’t film him without his permission.’
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote at the time: ‘Lana Del Rey randomly working as a waitress for the Waffle House is iconic.’
Another said: ‘What is Lana Del Rey doing working a shift at the Waffle House,’ while a third tweeted: ‘Waffle House employee of the month: Lana Del Rey.’
And third joked: ‘Lana Del Rey working at Waffle House was not on my 2023 bingo card.’
Eager customer Karina Cisneros Juarez said how they were thrilled to have met the musician in the restaurant, describing their encounter as ‘insane’.
They wrote on Facebook: ‘I have been a huge fan of Lana Del Rey for over a decade, so meeting her today was truly insane.’
Lana is one of the most successful singers of the past 10 years, with five Australian number one albums to her name.
Earlier this month she sold out a headline show at London’s Hyde Park for 65,000 fans, and she has an estimated net worth of more than $40 million.
Outside of her concerts and music releases, Lana does like to keep a low profile and has in the past expressed an interest in following career opportunities outside of the industry.
In 2021, she told Variety: ‘Sometimes that has taken me super far away from music into other mediums and other job opportunities that have nothing to do with the arts at all.
‘I’m very flexible and what I’ve come to understand is that if you follow what you’re interested in, you’ll end up being the most creative in that field.’
‘Even if you get a 9-5 after you got the decade award, you need to do what feels right,’ she added.
