He narrowly escaped the same fate as Daniel Penny. Now, think about it. All that guy wanted to do: make a decent living, support his family and come home alive at the end of the day. That there was even a five-minute-long debate about whether he should have been charged is obscene. Now, thankfully, New Yorkers who’ve been living in this crime spree were up in arms and rallied to support Mr. Alba, causing Alvin Bragg to drop the murder charges against him. But signs of discontent among minority voters aren’t limited to crime. Look what happened after residents discovered illegals were being housed in school gymnasiums. Reports that as many as 20 gyms were going to be used for this purpose.
Everybody knows that Democrats support liberal immigration policies and that they like open borders because they want votes and their donors want cheap labor. The only force capable of closing the floodgates is an angry and, frankly, energized American electorate. And more Blacks and Latinos are beginning to see just how much they had to lose by sticking with the Democrats — and, of course, their destructive policies. Now look no further than what’s going on in another left-wing paradise: Chicago. They value fraudulent asylum seekers over their everyday residents.
Drudge’s reporting never mentioned Ingraham, who currently hosts the highly-rated Ingraham Angle. Cooper appeared to base his claim on the reporting that Hannity, Watters, and Gutfeld would occupy the three hours of prime time between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Should Drudge’s reporting come to fruition, Ingraham would indeed be out of prime time, but there is no indication she would be out of a job. Ingraham notably has long won her 10 p.m. hour and was not one of the Fox hosts who featured prominently in the Dominion Voting Systems defamation lawsuit.
Fox News hit back at Cooper with a statement, declaring, “Reports based on various tweets by left wing activists are wildly inaccurate – Laura Ingraham, the top-rated woman in cable news, is now and will continue to be a prominent host and integral part of the lineup.”
Fox, since Carlson’s ouster in late April, has seen a steep decline in prime time viewers – losing in prime time to MSNBC on Monday – which has led to observers and pundits to speculate about further changes.
Carlson averaged 3.25 million in the first quarter of 2023 at 8 p.m., the same hour on Tuesday brought in 1.43 million total viewers, below the average of 1.66 million viewers Fox saw in the week after Carlson’s ouster. A rotating cast of hosts including Brian Kilmeade, Lawrence Jones, Kayleigh McEnany, and currently Will Cain replaced Carlson after his abrupt firing.
“No decision has been made on a new primetime line-up and there are multiple scenarios under consideration,” a network spokesperson said.
The statement came after Drudge Report blared out a main headline that Hannity was being prepared to take over the time slot, with Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld also being prepared for primetime slots. Where that leaves Laura Ingraham’s show, which airs at 10 p.m., is unclear.
Before he was dropped by the network last month, Carlson was the most watched cable news host in primetime, averaging 3.25 million total viewers in March, the last full month of his show.
While they have generally won the time period, the gap has narrowed considerably with the closest rival in the slot, MSNBC’s All in with Chris Hayes. The loss of Carlson appears to have had an audience impact on the show it led into, Hannity, at 9 p.m. ET. The show has generally won its time slot, too, but on Monday, The Rachel Maddow Show beat it, helping MSNBC garner a rare primetime win. The caveat: Maddow’s show airs just once a week, with Alex Wagner filling the rest of the week.
Watters and Gutfeld have been two of the network’s breakout personalities since they launched their shows, replacing newscasts in their time periods. Watters airs at 7 p.m. ET and Gutfeld at 11 p.m. They both are also regulars on The Five, the top rated program in cable news, at 5 p.m.
At the MoffettNathanson conference on Wednesday, Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch touted the network’s ability to maintain a top ratings position despite the loss of major personalities, including Glenn Beck, Megyn Kelly and Bill O’Reilly. He did not address the circumstances of Carlson’s exit, and declined to talk about Fox News’ programming decisions.
