Person Seriously Injured in Abington House Fire

One person is hospitalized with serious injuries after a house caught fire on Linwood Street in Abington, Massachusetts.

The fire started shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday at 736 Linwood Street. The homeowner was able to escape and was rushed to Brockton Hospital, the Abington fire chief said.

State Police fire & Explosion Investigation Unit assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating with the Abington Fire Department. Firefighters were still putting out hot spots around 7 a.m. Thursday.

Neighbors said they woke up to the sound of fire crews.

“I saw ambulances and fire trucks and the house with the flames going up,” one neighbor said.

No further information was immediately available.
