Cardi B and Offset are spendin’ Valentine’s Day together at the golden arches for the unveiling of their collab meal, and they certainly weren’t alone … because a MASSIVE swarm of fans met them there.
The happy couple hit up the Times Square McDonald’s Tuesday, and if ya didn’t know that location is one of the busiest in the world … you’d definitely know it after seeing the scene the couple created.
The entire staff was eagerly waitin’ for them too, cheering them on as they walked up to the counter to get their grub bags.
They also had a kiss cam in the building for Cardi and Offset to snap some pics — and they even ended up on the Jumbotron outside the restaurant for all of Times Square to see!
TMZ broke the story … sources connected to the couple told us they shot their Super Bowl ad around Christmas time, and the final product introduced the couple’s new meal to millions of viewers on Sunday.
Cardi B posted on Instagram their special announcement with a photo of herself and her husband, Offset, with the caption, “Get ready yall! Cardi B & Offset meal coming 2/14!!”
The meal contains Cardi B’s favorite McDonald’s cheeseburger, tangy BBQ sauce and a large Coca-Cola. For Offset, there’s a Quarter Pounder with cheese and a large Hi-C Orange drink. The box will also have a large order of fries and an apple pie to share with your boo.
The pair has always been vocal about keeping a steady balance of love and business in their relationship to continue building something for their family.
“It might sound weird, but we don’t always put love first—because sometimes you can put love before work and mess up your career because you’re not focused,” Offset told ESSENCE. “Love is important, but if you’ve got that foundation, we should respect each other and what we have going on. I had never experienced a woman that was working like me and doing what I’m doing. It turns me on. She does her own thing. She likes the hustle, so that ain’t never getting in between our love.”
This is not the first time McDonald’s has partnered with celebrities to help sell meals. In 2021, the restaurant collaborated with K-pop megastars BTS to create the BTS Meal, which included “medium fries, a medium drink, as well as its Sweet Chili and Cajun dipping sauces inspired by recipes from McDonald’s South Korea,” according to TODAY. And in 2020, the franchise teamed up with rapper Travis Scott, to dish up a meal consisting of a fresh beef Quarter Pounder with Cheese, bacon, lettuce, medium fries with BBQ sauce to dip and a Sprite to wash it all down. The collaboration led to ingredient shortages and lots of money in the bank for all parties involved.
