A snow emergencies have been declared in two Kentucky counties due to hazardous weather conditions.
Bracken and Kenton counties declared snow emergencies Sunday evening.
Kenton County declared a Level 1 snow emergency just before 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Bracken County declared a Level 2 snow emergency around 7:30 p.m., just an hour after its Level 1 declaration.
A Level 1 snow emergency means that “roadways are hazardous with blowing and/or drifting snow, roadways may be icy. Cautious driving is advised.”
A Level 2 snow emergency means that “roadways are hazardous due to snow, ice, or a combination thereof. Only motorists whose travel is necessary should be on the roadways. Residents are urged to contact employers to see if they should report to work.”
Campbell and Pendleton counties also issued Level 1 travel advisories due to hazardous road conditions.
