After wins over Portsmouth and Preston North End, it looked like Tottenham Hotspur was destined for a third-straight favorable FA Cup draw as Wrexham continued its miracle run, but ultimately it was Sheffield United that came out on top to earn a date with Spurs in the Fifth Round.
Nevertheless, this is still a good tie for Tottenham, who will again be favorited against a Championship side. While Sheffield United in on track to return to the Premier League after a couple year hiatus, any matchup against a lower-league team is good at this stage, especially with plenty of important fixtures already on the calendar.
Spurs are rounding into form in the league and still have a good shot to advance in the Champions League, but it feels worthwhile to keep progressing in the FA Cup. Cristian Stellini could rotate a bit on Wednesday and still feel confident, and with half of the big six already eliminated, Tottenham might as well do its best to stay alive.

Sheffield United vs Tottenham: match preview
If Sheffield United are a team that’s going places, Tottenham are one that huffs and puffs but never really seems to get anywhere. It’s why today’s clash immediately captured the imagination as the potential tie of the FA Cup fifth round, one that looks especially ripe for an upset.
The Blades may be a division below Spurs in the football pyramid, but it’s unlikely to feel that way at a packed-out Bramall Lane that rarely gives visitors an inch. Second in the Championship and likely to be plying their trade in the Premier League next season, Paul Heckingbottom’s men don’t exactly need a deep cup run, though it’s landmark results on occasions like these, featuring big names like Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, that tend to linger in fans’ memories.
A momentum boost may come in handy too. United rebounded from back-to-back defeats to promotion-chasing rivals by securing a hard-fought victory over Watford at the weekend, although it came courtesy of an own goal. It’s been a challenging period for the team, and a distraction could be just the ticket.
It’s safe to say that Billy Sharp got a little carried away when Sheffield United got the better of Wrexham in the last round, and they could do with more of that fire tonight. He starts up front despite only just returning from injury, with James McAtee and Andre Brooks in support. Sander Berge and Oliver Norwood are two of the standout names on a strong bench.
Fraser Forster
Had nothing really to do other than make some catches from corners and free-kicks before being beaten low down by Ndiaye’s shot, which wrong-footed him.
Davinson Sanchez
Showed his rustiness with a shaky start but played a good ball through to Richarlison only for the Brazilian to fire over. His mistakes often look particularly clumsy and there was another big slip under no pressure in the second half. He then was one of the defenders to let Ndiaye easily drift past him.
Lucas Moura
A bright start for the Brazilian and he was constantly coming deep to fill the spaces Kane would take. He sent one cross on to the crossbar in the first half. However, familiar issues arose as he ran with the ball past defenders into blind alleys.
Richarlison
Started in the central attacking role and should have done better with a chance set up by Sanchez midway through the first half. Sent another effort wildly off target in the second half and was replaced by Kane after the hour mark. Lacking service but a poor day at the office whenever he did get the ball.
