Microsoft Corp. MS Teams There was backup for most users, the company said on Thursday, after an hour-long outage that disrupted the chat application for thousands of customers globally.
The company cited a disruption over a recent software update that “had a broken connection to an service internal storage”.
The company said on its website, “We are addressing any residual effects related to this incident. Additionally, we are monitoring for any signs of failure until we are confident that the service has failed.” All functions have been fully recovered.”
MS Teams, used by over 270 million people globally, is an integral part of daily operations for businesses and schools that use the service to make calls, schedule meetings, and s their workflow .
The company did not distreamlineclose the number of users affected by the disruption, but outage tracking website Downdetector.com showed more than 4,800 incidents in the United States and more than 18,200 in Japan. The site tracks outages on its platform by aggregating status reports from sources including user-submitted errors.
During the outage, most users were unable to exchange messages or use any of the application’s features. With #MicrosoftTeams trending as a hashtag on the social media site, many users took to Twitter to share updates and memes about the service disruption.
