Spring-like weather has returned to the South Plains with afternoon highs back in the 60s and warmer southerly winds.
There are plenty of clouds, but rain is not in the forecast until maybe late in the week and again next week. Temps will change little this week, with afternoon highs moving and staying in the 70s through Saturday.
As you would expect, the nighttime lows will not be as cold but will still average between 30-40 degrees for the remainder of the week. In addition, the winds will cooperate until Friday, when they will start increasing once again.
It looks like it could be a windy weekend as a strong system moves into the area and could bring a slight rain potential. Another system will get another chance of rain by the middle of next week.
Next week’s temperatures will fall back below average for the region.
