Tom Brady spent 23 seasons using his hands to cradle a football in the NFL; now he’s moved onto cradling the faces of models.
Brady, the former pro football player and former husband of Gisele Bündchen, was spotted canoodling with Irina Shayk, a model who shares a 6-year-old daughter with actor Bradley Cooper, and who has also been linked to soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Brady, 45, was spotted picking 37-year-old Shayk up from her LA hotel Friday afternoon, before the two reportedly returned to the house Brady has been staying in for the night. Saturday morning, photographers captured Brady and Shayk once again in his Rolls Royce, appearing to participate in some intense eye contact and talking, while Brady stroked the model’s cheek. Face-cupping: all the rage right now.
Brady’s divorce from Bündchen was finalized in October 2022. The two were married for 13 years and have two children together (Brady also has another child with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynihan). The Bradchen offspring reportedly have a busy summer planned, splitting time with their parents and spending time in both Brazil and California.
Multiple outlets reported Brady and Shayk met in June at billionaire Joe Nahmad’s wedding in Italy. Shayk reportedly spent a couple days during the weekend with Brady at a Los Angeles house where the former star quarterback was staying. TMZ shared photos and a video of Brady and Shayk together in a car.
Brady and Shayk “have never been involved romantically before” this summer, People magazine reported, but their romance has been brewing for “a few weeks.”
Shayk has some experience dating superstar athletes as well: She was previously in a long-term relationship with soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo, a generational talent who, like Brady, frequently draws the GOAT label.
Brady has been hounded by dating gossip from the moment that he and Bundchen finalized their divorce in October 2022. Unsubstantiated reports linked the gunslinger with both Reese Witherspoon and Kim Kardashian, but those flimsy rumors were never supported with even the slightest shred of evidence — unlike Brady’s public appearance with Shayk.
Bundchen hasn’t been immune to the rumor mill, either: Per Page Six, she was erroneously linked with engaged real estate mogul Jeff Soffer and was rumored to be dating her jiu-jitsu instructor.
The University of Michigan alum reportedly had a fling with Tara Reid in 2002.
The American Pie star didn’t give details on their time together, but she did allude to it being brief. When asked about Brady during a 2014 interview on Australia’s The Kyle and Jackie O’s Show, she replied, “We have kissed. He’s pretty good looking.”
Reid briefly touched on their romance again during a 2022 interview with NBC Sports Boston. “I dated Tom Brady,” she said. “He was a great guy. He’s a really nice guy, a really sweet guy. We had a lot of fun.”
Two months later, they stepped out together at the Ermenegildo Zegna flagship store opening in New York City, and from there, they were regularly supporting each other at events. High-profile red carpet outings included the 2004 premiere of I, Robot, Moynahan’s film with Will Smith, the 2005 Vanity Fair Oscars party and the 2006 Met Gala.
“I can be myself around her, and there’s not many people I can be myself around. It’s fun to be around your best friends who know you well, and she’s someone that I consider one of my very best friends,” Brady told 60 Minutes’ Steve Kroft in 2005, later deflecting a follow-up question about marriage.
After three years of dating, the couple announced their split in December 2006, with a rep for Moynahan telling PEOPLE they “amicably ended their three-year relationship several weeks ago.” Brady then moved on with Bündchen, but in February 2007, Moynahan announced she was more than three months pregnant with her ex’s child.
Brady reflected on the moment he learned of Moynahan’s pregnancy while speaking with Howard Stern in 2020, calling it “a very unique time” that “challenged me to grow up in a different way.”
