While we wait to see if the Kansas City Chiefs lose any more coaches to the carousel of new hires around the National Football League (or even the college ranks for that matter, given the loss of linebackers coach Matt House), it actually looks as if the team’s next loss will come from their front office.
In recent weeks, Chiefs exec Ryan Poles, who has served as the team’s Executive Director of Player Personnel for the last couple of years, has earned multiple interviews with at least three teams that we know of—ranging from the to the Minnesota Vikings and, soon, the Chicago Bears.
For now, the Giants have already filled their general manager role with the selection of Joe Schoen from the Buffalo Bills. The others are not only still vacant but apparently even waiting for Poles.
KC Chiefs executive Ryan Poles might have his choice of general manager jobs in the NFC North.
Per a report from Vikings insider Matthew Coller, Poles is the favorite to head up Minnesota’s front office for the foreseeable future if he’ll take the job. There is, however, one other team in the way.
Poles has been on the radar of teams as a potential up-and-coming GM for a few years now, and last year he earned his first couple of interviews with the Carolina Panthers. He lost out on that role to Seattle Seahawks exec Scott Fitterer, but it was clear that Poles wouldn’t be long for Kansas City.
